  • 4 medium Russet potatoes (about 2 lbs)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Black olives (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut into equal-sized chunks.
  2. Boil the potato chunks in salted water for 15-20 minutes until fork-tender. Drain and return to pot.
  3. Mash the potatoes with butter, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until smooth.
  4. Let the mixture cool slightly, then shape using a skull-shaped cookie cutter or mold.
  5. Gently fold shredded cheddar cheese into each skull center before placing them on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Decorate with black olive pieces as eyes before serving warm.
