- Juice of ½ lemon

Instructions
- In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water or broth to a boil. Gradually whisk in 1 cup of stone-ground grits and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 20-25 minutes until thickened.
- Stir in ½ cup heavy cream, 2 tbsp butter, and 1 cup cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon but keep the drippings in the skillet.
- Add the shrimp and minced garlic to the skillet; cook for about 3-5 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque.
