Description

Tomato and Mozzarella Potato Gratin is a heartwarming dish that brings together tender Yukon Gold potatoes, juicy tomatoes, and gooey mozzarella cheese for a comforting yet elegant meal. Perfect for chilly evenings or special gatherings, this gratin will elevate your dining experience with its rich flavors and stunning presentation.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 4 medium ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 cups fresh mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a medium-sized baking dish with olive oil or butter.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish. Season with salt, pepper, and half of the minced garlic. Add half of the sliced tomatoes on top.
  4. Pour half of the heavy cream over the first layer and sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese.
  5. Repeat layering with remaining ingredients.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes until potatoes are tender. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  7. Let it rest before serving.
