  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

  2. Gradually add flour and salt to the yeast mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down dough; divide into pieces, rolling each into ropes and twisting into pretzel shapes.
  6. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C). Boil water with baking soda; boil pretzels for 30 seconds each before placing on parchment-lined baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. For the cheese dip, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat; whisk in flour until smooth. Gradually add milk and shredded cheese until melted and creamy.
