- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed (preferably dark)

- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine chopped dates and water. Cook until thickened, about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Mix in flour, rolled oats, baking powder, and salt until crumbly.
- Press half of the mixture into the bottom of the prepared dish. Spread date filling evenly on top and sprinkle remaining crumb mixture.
