- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- ½ cup strawberry jam
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three 9-inch round cake pans and dust with flour.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time; mix in milk and vanilla.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Divide batter into three bowls. Leave one plain for vanilla, mix cocoa in another for chocolate, and stir in strawberry jam in the last one.
- Pour each batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
