  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup strawberry jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three 9-inch round cake pans and dust with flour.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream softened butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time; mix in milk and vanilla.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Divide batter into three bowls. Leave one plain for vanilla, mix cocoa in another for chocolate, and stir in strawberry jam in the last one.
  6. Pour each batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
