  • 1 lb ground turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 medium onion (finely diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (plus more for glazing)
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup diced bell peppers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onions and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, egg, sautéed onions and garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, and optional bell peppers until just mixed.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan. Smooth the top for even cooking.
  5. Spread reserved ketchup over the top for added flavor.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Let rest before slicing.
