  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, egg, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually combine with dry ingredients using a spatula until just mixed.
  4. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto prepared sheets about two inches apart. Lightly flatten each ball.
  5. Sprinkle extra cinnamon sugar on top of the flattened dough for added flavor.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden but centers remain soft. Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
