- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup whole milk (lukewarm)
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp brewed coffee
Instructions
- Warm the milk in a saucepan until lukewarm. Combine yeast and sugar in a bowl, then pour warm milk over it. Let sit until bubbly.
- Whisk flour and salt in another bowl. Mix in the yeast mixture, melted butter, and eggs until combined.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle and spread with melted butter; sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mix and cut into strips. Twist into knots.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake knots for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar with brewed coffee for icing. Drizzle over warm knots.
