- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips or melts (semi-sweet or milk)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix this dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets with space in between.
- Press your thumb into the center of each dough ball to create an indentation.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm. Remove from oven and fill each thumbprint with chocolate chips while still warm.
- Allow cookies to cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.
