  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 6 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 pita breads
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup diced cucumbers
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix yogurt, minced garlic, spices, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Coat chicken breasts thoroughly and marinate for at least one hour or overnight in the fridge.
  2. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for about 6–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  3. Let cooked chicken rest for 5 minutes on a cutting board. Slice thinly against the grain.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together minced garlic, yogurt, lemon juice, salt, and olive oil until smooth.
  5. On warm pita bread, layer sliced chicken and fresh veggies. Drizzle generously with garlic sauce before rolling up tightly.
  6. Enjoy immediately while warm with extra garlic sauce if desired.
