- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 6 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 4 pita breads
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup diced cucumbers
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, minced garlic, spices, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Coat chicken breasts thoroughly and marinate for at least one hour or overnight in the fridge.
- Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken for about 6–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
- Let cooked chicken rest for 5 minutes on a cutting board. Slice thinly against the grain.
- In a small bowl, whisk together minced garlic, yogurt, lemon juice, salt, and olive oil until smooth.
- On warm pita bread, layer sliced chicken and fresh veggies. Drizzle generously with garlic sauce before rolling up tightly.
- Enjoy immediately while warm with extra garlic sauce if desired.
