  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 12 oz fresh or frozen cheese tortellini
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions until soft (about 5 minutes). Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  2. Crumble in the ground beef and cook until browned (7-10 minutes). Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Gently combine cooked tortellini with the beef mixture.
  5. Layer half of the mixture in a greased baking dish, sprinkle with half of the mozzarella, then repeat.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
