  • 2 cups Granny Smith apples, diced
  • 1 cup thick-cut bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup bourbon whiskey
  • 1 medium sweet onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by washing and dicing the apples, and chopping the onions.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crispy. Remove excess grease if necessary.
  3. Add the chopped onions and diced apples to the skillet. Cook until softened (about 5-7 minutes).
  4. Stir in brown sugar and bourbon whiskey. Let it simmer to combine flavors.
  5. After about 10 minutes, add cider vinegar and salt. Continue cooking until it thickens into a jam-like consistency.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before transferring to jars. Store in the fridge for up to two weeks.
