  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Melt butter and mix with granulated sugar until smooth; add eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed; fold in half the chocolate chips.
  5. In another bowl, cream butter with brown sugar; add egg and vanilla then mix in flour and remaining chocolate chips.
  6. Layer half the brownie batter in the pan, followed by cookie dough, then top with remaining brownie batter. Swirl gently.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are set but the center remains soft.
