Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ribeye steak (about 1 inch thick)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 8 ounces rigatoni pasta
  • 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook rigatoni in salted boiling water until al dente (10-12 minutes). Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper, add one tablespoon of butter, and sear for 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
  3. Remove steak and let it rest. In the same skillet, add minced garlic to remaining butter; sauté until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and reserved pasta water, stirring in grated cheddar until melted and smooth.
  5. Toss drained rigatoni in cheese sauce until well coated. Slice rested steak and serve on top of rigatoni, drizzling with extra garlic butter sauce.
